Acrylic on Canvas, 30" x 36"

I finished it, so here it is, restretched onto the double-thick stretcher bars because, lo and behold, canvasses don't magically un-warp themselves. Actually, it's currently framed and going through the juried submission process for the Eugene Mayor's Art Show, so cross your fingers that it gets in. (I'm hopeful, but the show's generally pretty uppity/snooty/elitist in a town that doesn't have much of a self-supporting art scene. Furthermore, only about 10% of submissions get in, if that much.)

There are still some minor issues that I could have fixed, but I felt like I could have gone on "fixing" things until I ruined it completely, so I decided to stop. I never signed it, though, because there wasn't enough busy-ness to hide a signature in -- I felt like it would have pulled focus, regardless of where I put it.

So, anyway, comment away. I'm off to work on all the other projects I put on hold to meet the submission deadline for this one.

[Edit: This piece ended up not getting into the Mayor's Show, but all pieces rejected from that show get into a show called Salon des Refuses, so that's where it ended up. I actually got some handwritten positive feedback from the judges of the Mayor's Show, which I assume isn't too common, so that made the rejection not sting so much. Then, the group running the Salon show requested to keep it through their Halloween Gala, and of course that was fine with me. Then it got chosen for a Daily Deviation, and that excites me to no end.
